Greetings Students! I am thrilled to offer my tutoring services through Skooli. Since 2006 (the MySpace and Iphone 1 era), I have been an English teacher, and I have worked with grades 8-12. My range of subjects includes: English 8-12, ERWC 12, PreAP English, IB English, English Support, SAT/ACT Prep, and AVID (College Prep). I have always approached the subject of English with creativity and enthusiasm, and have found that my students gain valuable insight from this approach. One of my favorite teaching resources is music, so I hope you appreciate my playlist (recommendations welcome). Aside from teaching, I enjoy traveling, listening to music, cooking, hillarious memes/TikToks, and nature. That said, with distance learning posing additional challenges to learning, I hope to offer students a place to develop their ideas and receive valuable feedback. I look forward to meeting you. :o)

Specialities
While I love reading and analyzing literature, I specialize in assiting students with writing composition. Some more speficic topics and styles include: expository and analytical research essays, narrative writing, and literary analysis. However, as many courses are taking creative approaches to subjects, I also have a lot of experience with multigenre projects in all subjects. Since I've taught AVID (a college prep program), I have also developed strategies and approaches for SAT/ACT preparation, and have seen students track their gains as they worked through multiple practice and official tests. And finally, I offer assistance with college planning which can be essential as early as 9th grade.
