About Sophie
I have been teaching for over 8 years and enjoy working with students at various levels and mediums in art. I especially enjoy working with curious students and helping their ideas come to life through learning new skills.
Nurturing creative confidence through critical thinking and observational skills is at the heart of my teaching approach. I am passionate about working one-on-one with students and connecting with them on an individual level to help them reach their greatest potential. My classroom is a space for igniting imagination and expressing individuality through art and design. I firmly believe that every student can acquire critical life skills through art education and should be empowered to use their unique voice and capabilities both in and out of school.

I am strongly interested in combining my passion for art and graphic design with my experience in education to contribute more effective experiences for learners. In 2014 I started a small printmaking business, and in 2020 I created Salve Design Studio LLC. I am highly proficient in industry standard design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite and Figma. My personal artistic practice includes textile design, sculpture, printmaking, film and digital photography.
