About Sofie
I became an educator to influence young learners in a way that supports student growth for learning beyond the classroom. My role as a teacher is to impact young people in order to provide them with the skills to thrive both as learners and community members. As an educator, I am not only preparing my students to be strong learners, I am also helping them acquire the personal skills that will allow them to thrive in all aspects of their lives. Through my teaching, I promote positive social-emotional skills such as compassion and leadership that promotes an active and productive learning environment, and I believe my methods in doing so ensure that students achieve academic success in the core content areas. I became a teacher because all children deserve the tools to become successful in their personal lives beyond the classroom and I believe that I am prepared to help develop students into current and future leaders so that they can accomplish their goals throughout life.
