As Ray Bradbury wrote, "You don't have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them." So many students are fearful of or frustrated with reading literature because they feel it doesn't apply to them, or isn't relevant to their life, but the best literature transcends time through themes that are part of human nature. As an English teacher, I value reading and writing because they are the core ways we communicate as a society, and pass ideas from generation to generation.
I am also a special educator, so I am comfortable breaking down large concepts into manageable parts to help students comprehend and analyze any text they encounter. How can I help you?
