My name is Erika Boetto and I have a degree in Zoology with Neuroscience (Animal Behaviour). During my last year of university, I took part in the Undergraduate Biologist School Ambassador scheme. Here, I had the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in communicating biological sciences to young people in a school setting and working as a teacher assistant. I was chosen by Charleston School, situated in Cove, where I was assigned a P3. In my weekly classes, my aim was to promote STEM subjects through a series of activities suited to the children's age. This highly enriching experience convinced me to a career in teaching. In fact, I am now a PGDE student in Biology with Sciences at the University of Aberdeen, and I am currently working as part of my placement, at Turriff Academy. Moreover, I have been working as an English tutor for 7 years, and here I had the chance to work with children and adults of a wide range of different background.
