About Dongxiao
I am a native Chinese speaker and a Master Level Texas Licensed Court Interpreter with Mandarin & English. I wanted to be a teacher when I was a little girl. My grandma and both of my parents were teachers! I attended Shaanxi Normal University and got a Master’s degree in Education. I taught Dao De Jing to my daughter when she was 11 years old. She was born here in the United States and her native language is English. My unique way of teaching her was repeating reading the texts at least 100 times. My daughter is in college now. She always comes on top whenever she takes a Chinese language test. Her listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Chinese are very good today. She watches Chinese TV shows with no difficulty. I like dancing, singing, knitting & crocheting, reading, writing, and exercising in nature.

I would like to get to know my students as much as I can. Everyone learns in a different way. Some learn the best to listen to, others may need to write down notes more, still others may want to practice more. I will tailor my teaching to a particular student with his or her learning style.
